Kua Bay, Big Island | Hawaii Wedding Photographer | ASHLEY + DEREK
It was so fun to meet some new friends a few weekends ago on one of my favorite beaches on the Kona side of big-island. Meet Ashley and her husband Derek!
Ashley is an amazing wedding photographer from Florida who came all the way to Hawaii for a wedding! What’s even more crazy is she found me on FACEBOOK of all places and asked if I wanted to meet up and take some pictures of each other while she was in town for a wedding. Of course I said ABSO-freakin-LUTELY and we went down to Kua Bay on a super sunny day here in Kailua-Kona. Kua is always a little more crowded than I prefer but OH MY GOSH it was SO crowded this day. (Great weather and it was Saturday so I guess it wasn’t too surprising, but I’m now reminded why I usually stick to the other beaches on weekends). I was a little worried I’d have to edit 5 million people out of every single shot, but luckily even on this crowded beach we were able to find a few spots where we could make it look like it was our own private escape. Although I did have to edit out a few in some of these— can you tell?
I mean just look at all the freaking FUN we had laughing and playing in the waves. They were so easy to talk to and so comfortable with each other. I feel so blessed to have met them and captured a small piece of their love. I love being a part of this photography community and I love being a photographer in Hawaii!
